Finally... An Update on the Hensley Family

So it has been way too long! We have been so busy that somehow we have forgotten to update our blog. Life has been crazy but absolutely awesome! Liam just turned 1 on Tuesday. We had a great 1st birthday party... lots of people. I figured that we've been very blessed to have so many close friends and family and I didn't want to leave anyone out. Time flies!!! And
Austin has been really busy with Little League. He pitches along with a few other positions. Also this year they started doing real reports and projects and he has gotten A's on everything! He is doing really well. Football camp starts soon. Sean started his own company, http://www.setlistmanagement.com and has already signed one band. Perry Acker is a local band from Gig Harbor... very talented and Sean has been spending every waking moment with them. I have just been holding down the fort, family planning and also finishing up the last part of my training at 911. I've been there 2 1/2 yrs and finally am almost trained. It's very stressful but I am excited to have it done. We have some great upcoming trips for summer so we're looking forward to that as well. Next month I will be taking the boys to Lake Roosevelt for camping, jet skiing and boating and then in August we have two trips planned. We will be going to a family reunion on my side of the family in Sweet Home, Oregon. We used to have a reunion every summer when I was a kid. Now all of the "kids" from back then have their own kids so we've started the reunion back up. It should be a blast. At the end of the summer, we'll be taking a road trip with Sean's parents down to California... all of us in the motorhome together. :) It will be an experience to remember! It will be wonderful though. We will be going down for a memorial service for Sean's Papa and Nana. His grandmother (Anita's mom) passed away after a long fight with alzheimers two weeks ago. It's been hard for the family but we are thankful that she is now in peace. On a separate note, if you aren't here in Washington, we have experienced one of the nicest springs I can remember. Lots of warm weather! Have a great start to summer!

So lately our time consists of chasing after Liam, playing, eating, chasing after Liam, housework (while Liam is asleep), chasing after Liam... you get the picture. He is getting SO mobile! I absolutely love it but it's definitely keeping me busy. I relish times during his nap so I can catch up on things like our blog... and did I say out loud that I can put off housework when I do this? Back to the mobile baby. So he was doing the low army crawl for awhile but has since decided he wants to be a big boy after our first "play date" with other kids. It took a couple of days but now he is crawling all over. He also pulls himself up and stands. Lets just say that crying, black eyes and bruises is becoming the hourly routine. On Monday all four of us took a walk to the park down the road and Liam got to swing for the first time. He loved it and screamed (in a good way) the whole time. It was hilarious! Austin would make these faces at him and Liam loved it. He loves his brother. Liam is always trying to lay on Austin and he is really good about it.
On another note, we are so excited because Sean's cousin (and best friend) Jimmy is getting married in November and Sean is in the wedding! I can't wait to fly there to meet his fiance and see Jimmy. Should be fun!

Funny Boy

So Liam really thinks he's funny! He's always scrunching up his nose and doing this funny fake laugh and he "fake" coughs. It's hilarious! Attached is a pic of the face he does when he's laughing. He's starting to get such a personality.

Pics of Boys- Our Two Favs!!!

Leslie's Trip

So I went to FEMA for work a few weeks ago and before my training, I got to take a quick trip to DC! It was so exciting. I flew into Baltimore on Saturday evening and took the night to sleep, sleep, sleep without anything/anyone to take care of. It was a nice break for a night. The next morning I got up early and took the train into DC. From there I jumped on a tour bus and saw all of the awesome places in DC. Obviously I could have spent weeks there and still not see everything that can be seen. However, using the tour bus afforded me time to see all the "big" stuff in a short amount of time. Of course Lincoln Memorial and White House were the highlights but all of it was great. I also visited the Holocaust Museum... every high school student in America should see that. Very eye opening! I really missed the guys but it was nice to have some me time.

Catch Up

Okay, so it has been way too long! We know most of our out of state relatives check up on us through our blog periodically but I have been a huge slacker. Okay, so definitely no slacking going on. Just extremely busy. On a side note... No, we didn't forget to send you a Christmas card. I actually didn't do any this year!

So we need some pictures to catch you up. Both of the boys are doing wonderfully. Austin got his first report card and is doing great. Liam just got two teeth, starting sitting up and crawling and can hold his own bottle. Of course he started all of this while I happened to be out of town. I'm practically a stay at home mom and the week I'm gone he decides to be a big boy for daddy!

Sean is doing great at work and I just got back from MD for work. What a great time I had in DC before training. It was so nice to get away from "life" and do my own thing but I was so ready to get home.

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season!

Love,
The Hensleys
