Been awhile....

Well, It has been awhile since we updated you. The boys are doing great. Austin had a perfect school report and Liam is 4 1/2 months already. He is just starting to belly laugh. The cutest thing ever. We recently moved but are still in the Tacoma area. We have a much bigger house for the boys. Anyhow, Leslie and I are working a lot and preparing for a another cold and wet winter. We should have some great Holiday photos to follow.

Cousins

My nephew Riley is so cute! He and Liam really get along well. Take a look for yourself.

New Experiences

So Liam has been trying some new things. He's sat in a Bumbo chair, played with a toy play mat and his favorite is sitting in his walker that Grandma bought. He absolutely loves it and even scoots himself backwards. It's so cute!!!

Austin

So I had Austin pose for me and the pics turned out great. I just never knew that he can't climb a tree to save his life. It was hilarious trying to get him up there for the pic on the left.

A New Feat

Okay, so who knew that trying to feed a baby rice cereal would be so interesting? We had our first stab at it. It started out promising. Sean put Liam in his high chair and he actually liked it and sat up and everything... for about 5 seconds. I think his little cheeks made his whole body fall over to the left side. So then we rolled up some towels so he won't fall to the side. Then I read the directions on the cereal box and the directions show to make it very soupy. Well my healthy baby has had cereal in his bottle since he was three weeks old. So needless to say, it was like taking what's in his bottle and trying to spoon feed him that. I think we'll try again soon. Either way, he seemed happy to join the real world in an actual chair and he didn't cry.

Brothers

Football

Austin started tackle football this year. He's on the Wolves and he is the STARTING QUARTERBACK!!! He is doing such a great job and we are so proud of him. He's a leader and a great athlete. Here are pics from his first jamboree.

New Babies Everywhere!!!

So, my sister had her baby- Riley! He is so adorable. The pics of he and Liam asleep next to each other are priceless! Sarah did a great job in labor and I had the honor of being there. We were both able to be there for each other's babies births. It was very special.I also had Liam take w/my friend Kim's baby too. His name is Braden and he's a long and lean machine and oh so sweet! My guy looks huge compared to his new buddies! Riley is on the left and Braden on the right.

One Month

I can't believe one month has already passed! It has flown by. Our house is extremely busy with Austin playing with neighborhood kids, Sean doing yardwork and I am so busy with Liam yet I feel like I haven't gotten anything done. Parenthood is amazing though. He's already 12 pounds and VERY healthy. He's an eating machine. :)

Week Two... More to Come

Week One

Well, we survived the first week. Actually he's been so good. He only cries when his diaper is off... in between peeing and pooing while his diaper is off! A friend of mine suggested keeping the cover off the changing pad and using receiving blankets and that's exactly what I'm doing. Our little boy is beautiful as can be, as you can see by the pics.

From the New Mommy

Liam is now four days old and I have loved every minute of it. This has been such an amazing gift God has given me. All of my life I've wanted to be a mom and now it's here. It seems almost unbelievable. I was just telling Sean this morning how this is the hardest yet easiest thing I've ever done. To have such healthy beautiful boys is more than I could ever ask for and yet somehow I have the best gift on earth. Not only that but to realize how wonderful my husband has been just adds the cherry on top. Sean is such an attentive father and he is so hands on. Without him this experience wouldn't be as wonderful as it has been. I can't imagine it any other way.

Introducing... LIAM AUSTIN HENSLEY !!!

Born at 3:07am on June 9th, 2008, We are overjoyed to welcome our new baby boy... Liam Austin Hensley. He was born a very healthy 8lbs. 7oz. and 20 inches in length. He is absolutely perfect in every way. We are very blessed to receive the overwhelming love and support from family and friends during our two day stay in Tacoma General Hospital. We literally had 60+ visitors in two days including a very dear family friend Ann Whitaker all the way from California to see little Liam's arrival. Today is our first full day at home and we are so excited for the years of memories we are about to receive.

To be continued....

Love you all,
Sean, Leslie, Austin & Liam

Week 39

So the end is finally here. I had my week 39 appointment and if the baby doesn't come on his own this weekend, I'll be induced on Tuesday morning. I can't believe the time is here! It doesn't seem possible that in a few short days, I'm going to meet my son and see his little face. We're so excited and ready. Austin wanted to go shopping today and pick up a few little items for his brother so we did that. Otherwise, we're just hanging around waiting. :) I guess that's what you're supposed to do. Hopefully our next post will be with pictures of our new addition to our family. We can't wait to show him off!
Love,
Sean, Leslie and Austin

Update...

So we had our weight estimate today and they think he's about 8lbs 4oz! He's a big boy and hopefully ready to join us anyday. :) We may be having an induction this week so we'll keep you posted. Unfortunately we don't have any new ultrasound pics to share. Babies are so big at this point you can't see a whole lot. In other news, Austin is Star of the Week at school next week! He's really excited. He also has a baseball banquet, field trip and recorder recital so he's nice and busy.

Week 38

So it's week 38 and I'm soooo ready for this baby to be born! I had my appointment yesterday and I was dialated to 3cm and 80% effaced. It's just a matter of time now. All of us are excited! They're doing a weight estimate on Monday afternoon at 4pm so we'll be sure to keep you updated and post his last ultrasound pic before we can get real photos. Austin called me last night and he sounded excited as well. We're all anticipating the newest member of our family and can't wait to meet him.

Company

Sean's best friend and his wife from junior high and high school was up here visiting this last weekend. Steve and Sarah were so nice and I was glad to finally meet them. We got to take them to some of the T-town hot spots like the Glass Museum and Point Defiance. They met a few of our friends and luckily they like playing games so they definitely fit in with me!!! Ha! Steve taught me a bunch of new card games so maybe if you're lucky, I'll teach some of you.

Austin Baseball

Austin had his last game in little league baseball last week. He did such a great job and it was awesome to see his improvement. He's becoming quite the little athlete. He's really quick and smart. He'll start tackle football this summer so stay tuned...

Week 37

We have kept very busy this week. Sunday I had a shower with some of my mom's friends. It was very fun and luckily not too hot. However, my poor ankles didn't know the difference because of the prior two days... I had major kankles and it was NOT fun! In fact, during one of the games, people weren't supposed to say baby or kankles. Ha! Also, during my doctor's appointment they didn't schedule the weight estimate so I guess I'll have to wait until next week. Sean has been so wonderful telling me not to do anything and keep my feet up. Either this is meant sweet or he really hates kankles. :) Maybe a little of both...

This weekend we have company coming from San Francisco so that should be fun. Sean's best friend from high school is flying in with his wife and I haven't met either of them. We're looking forward that that! Hopefully I won't go into labor while they're here. That would be interesting.

On another note, my mom has been going crazy buying stuff for the baby. She's pretty funny.

Austin

Austin is getting cuter and cuter everyday. Oh yeah, and can you tell he loves tattoos and the Seahawks?

Week 36

Yesterday was my week 36 appointment. I got to have another ultrasound and he was positioned just like he should be. It's weird when you have ultrasounds at the end of the pregnancy. His head was huge and you couldn't see everything like we could in the past. He's definitely taking up all of the room now. He just rolls around in my tummy. When I lay on the couch, it's like an alien is in there. Sean will watch from across the room and we both laugh. We can't wait to meet him and see what he looks like. Maybe then we'll finally know what to name him. :) My doctor is planning on doing one additional ultrasound because they want to do a weight estimation... she's thinking he may possibly be a big baby. If that's the case, they may end up inducing me at 38-39 weeks or worst case scenario, have a planned c-section. We'll find out in two weeks or so. Also, after lots of work and moving things all around, we think the baby room is finally done... and so cute! We're only waiting for two sports balls that we ordered. Attached are some pics.

Baby Showers

So I had a great baby shower thrown by my good friends Faith, Natalie and Nancy for a friends shower a few weeks ago. They did such a great job and it was absolutely beautiful outside... 75 degrees!!! Take a look at the pic. The following week, my sister, stepmom, and sister in law thru a shower and you can see a pic of my sister and I below. They did an amazing job too and I couldn't believe how wonderful everything turned out. I even had a diaper cake!

Bonding

I haven't written much about this yet but one of the coolest parts about this pregnancy is that my sister is also pregnant and expecting exactly 3 months behind me. We've had a great time sharing our experiences and bonding w/this. She is also a RN at Tacoma General and could possibly be my nurse. How cool would that be? She is also expecting a boy and raising them together will be so wonderful. The pic attached is from the baby shower she and my stepmom thru me. It was so wonderful and I appreciated it so much.

Week 34

So it's really week 35 for me but I've been writing the posts when I have my doctor's appointments which was last week. The baby is growing as he should. He's moved down a bit, which has made it more comfortable for me and he's measuring perfectly! I love hearing his heartbeat at every appointment. I also lost a pound and am still on track w/weight gain so that's encouraging. :) Sean is so proud of the nursery and thinks it's the cutest one he's ever seen. We have this amazing mobile that's made out of glitter glass and that is what makes the room. I also found this cute sepia football and baseball prints and framed those. I can't wait for all of you to see it. On another proud parent moment, Austin is playing baseball and has ended up being quite the accomplished pitcher. He's doing really well! I think his new cleats make him run faster too. :) He's excited for this summer vacation and moving up to being a fourth grader. He's also taking to being a big brother. So far, so good!

Week 31

So we finally got the room finished yesterday and the crib put together, as you can see in the new pics. It looks so cute! So far we have the crib, bookshelf and rocker. Now I'm in super baby mode. I think I've folded what clothes we do have about 10 times. Our friend Lindsey got the baby these really cute Adidas tennis shoes and Grandma found these great cowboy slippers, with a pair that matches to fit Austin too! This week is spring break for Austin so we've been hanging out having a good time.

Week 30

Today I had my 30 week appointment. Not too much new to tell except they said the baby is getting nice and big! I can definitely feel it. He loves to wiggle and kick and he's getting really good at his somersaults! He constantly has his behind on the right hand side of my tummy... always sticking out. Austin is getting pretty excited too! He loves to pick out names but of course the ones he likes are always his best friends names. He'll be such a great big brother. He will be almost 9 when this baby is born so it will be interesting to see the dynamics between the boys as they grow older. The room is almost completed and Grammy bought the crib for us this week so now Sean gets to put that together the next day he has some extra time. The room color is a light khaki w/white trim and the furniture is cherry. It looks very nice together. Stay posted for the 32 week appointment. He'll be here shortly!

Week #28

Well, we had another appointment this week and everything looks great. The baby is now a foot long and weighs around 2 pounds or so. He's definitely getting big... and so am I! This week he's been kicking me under the ribs and he's had hiccups twice. Now that's a really weird feeling. We've also started having appointments every two weeks now. Sean is getting ready to paint the baby's room and the bedding arrived this week. It's coming fast.

Our First Blog

Well, my friend Kim turned me onto this website and I'm so glad she found it. What a great way to share all that's going on. Sean and I found out we were pregnant in the beginning of October. We were very excited but also a little scared for all of the upcoming changes. We had planned on trying in the summer but sometimes God has other plans so now we'll actually have a baby this summer! The first trimester started out great but we had a couple of bumps along the way with some bedrest from the doctor. However, after we got to the second trimester, all was well and it's been great ever since. I felt the baby for the first time at 16 weeks (faintly, but I felt him) and than nothing until around 19-20 weeks. But now he is VERY active and even likes to kick under his mom's ribs, but I love every second of it. When we went in for our 20 week ultrasound, we wanted to find out the sex and the ultrasound technician was sure to tell us before we started that this scan was to make sure the health was okay and IF we could find out the sex, she would tell us. Well, she didn't even have the wand on me for five seconds and made the comment, "I wasn't looking for it, but it's sure looking for us". Needless to say, there was no doubt it was a boy! Sean and Austin were both so happy. I was still wondering if she was sure. I had a dream and the baby was a girl. However, in the same dream, I kept the baby in the oven! Seriously, that's where we kept her and it was a known fact. In my dream I would sometimes pre-heat the oven and forget she was in there but I would get her out in time and she would only be a little red. So I guess I couldn't really depend on that dream for a girl. We are now at 27 weeks and all is moving along well. Austin moved into his new room upstairs and we're getting started on the baby's room. We would love to hear from you!
